Honor Commits to Six Years of Android Updates with the New Honor 400 Series

Published on 2025-06-10

The Honor 400 series will offer six years of Android updates and incorporate Google’s latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) thanks to a partnership with the tech giant.

The collaboration with Google will enable Honor to provide developers with “quick access to the latest versions of Android, allowing users to experience the newest and most secure features.”

With this move, Honor has extended the software support for the Honor 400 series and confirmed it will receive updates to Google’s operating system through 2030, making it the first set of devices to benefit from six years of Android updates.

The Chinese company also announced in a press release that Android 16 Beta 3 is now available for developers on the Honor Magic 7 Pro.

Additionally, Honor stated that the Honor 400 series will integrate advanced AI-powered features using Google’s technology, such as Veo 2 in Vertex, which transforms static images (from real photos and AI-generated illustrations to old photographs) into short 5–7 second videos and live photos.

Honor also emphasized that its commitment to open collaboration is the “cornerstone” of the Honor Alpha Plan, the company’s strategy aimed at co-creating an open AI-driven ecosystem with shared value alongside global partners.
