The Artificial Intelligence company OpenAI has now surpassed one million paying users, compared to 600,000 registered in April 2024, the company announced on Thursday in a statement.
Germany, the United Kingdom, and Japan stand out as the main international markets for the platform outside the United States. More than half of the users of the Enterprise, Team, and Edu products come from outside the United States.
In its statement, OpenAI expressed satisfaction in collaborating with some of Europe's most influential companies and organizations, including the economic newspaper 'The Financial Times', the University of Oxford, and the Spanish bank BBVA.
Last week, OpenAI reported that the use of its API has doubled since the launch of GPT-4o mini in July. Leading companies such as Spotify and Klarna are already using this API to develop innovative products and improve their customer relationships.
Brad Lightcap, OpenAI's Chief Operating Officer, noted that "AI is transforming the way people work, from how students learn to how healthcare is optimized and how governments serve their citizens. We are proud to support over one million paying business users, helping them work more efficiently, streamline their operations, and discover new opportunities for innovation."
