El Switch D-Link DGS-1008D, un switch de sobremesa con 8 puertos 10/100/1000Mbps que ofrece un elevado rendimiento en un dispositivo que nos permite ahorrar espacio y dinero. Otra característica en este switch es que todos los puertos negocian automáticamente el ajuste del modo MDI/MDIX (Up-Link), evitando la necesidad de crear cables de par cruzado. Este switch de sobremesa es una alternativa económica a la fibra óptica para las oficinas domésticas y las pequeñas y medianas empresas (pymes). El aumento de las cargas de la red se gestiona con el mayor ancho de banda de Gigabit Ethernet.

El Switch DGS-1008D es compatible con IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T, 802.3u 100BASE-TX, 802.3ab 1000BASE-T y 803.3x control de flujo. Este switch esta equipado para auto negociar velocidades a 10Mbps, 100Mbps y 1000Mbps.
Control de flujo
El Switch DGS-1008D, en modo Full-Dúplex, permite proteger a los usuarios frente a posibles pérdidas de datos durante la transmisión en la red. Cuando están conectados a una tarjeta LAN (en un servidor o PC) que soporte control de flujo, y cuando el buffer de datos está por llenarse, el switch envía una señal al PC indicando tal situación. Luego, el PC demora la transmisión hasta que el buffer se haya liberado y sea posible el envío de más información.
Conectividad Gigabit sin fibra
El switch dispone de 8 puertos Gigabit en el formato familiar Ethernet, por lo que funciona sin problemas con los cables de red existentes (Cat5 o superior). En modo full duplex pueden alcanzarse hasta 2000 Mbps, con lo que las estaciones de trabajo podrán acceder a los datos del servidor sin cuellos de botella.
Instalación plug and play
Lo único que se ha de hacer es conectar los cables al switch
Todos los puertos admiten tanto cables straight-through como crossover, lo que elimina la necesidad de disponer de un puerto uplink.
Dados los 10/100/1000 Mbps autosensibles, no se requiere configuración.
