The Orange Digital Center (ODC) space of the Orange Foundation, located at number 101 on San Bernardo street in Madrid, is preparing an immersive experience aimed at elderly people so they can discover the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris through virtual reality.
Specifically, this initiative falls under the program in collaboration with Meta, 'Connected Seniors', an initiative that Orange launches "to improve the day-to-day life of elderly people by accompanying them to discover the digital world in a safe and responsible manner," the company explained.
Orange presents this traveling workshop, which will visit stores in different provinces "to introduce virtual reality to the senior public," they added.
The first stop of this traveling workshop will be on February 20th at the ODC facilities at 10:30 AM, where "participants will be offered the opportunity to embark on an immersive journey to one of the world's most iconic architectural treasures: the Notre Dame Cathedral through Meta's virtual reality glasses," argued Orange. Later, the workshop will travel to cities such as Malaga, Seville, Valencia, among others.
"This experience is designed for those who wish to explore the world from an innovative perspective," stated Patricia Acosta Soler, Manager of Sustainability and Digital Equality at Orange.
"No prior technology experience is required, just curiosity and a desire to discover. We are excited to offer this accessible immersive experience to everyone in eight provinces in this first phase and are confident it will help improve the quality of life for elderly people by accompanying them on new technological adventures and helping them to foster their autonomy," concluded Soler.
