YouTube TV has begun rolling out the 'Multi View' feature or multi-window support, which allows for simultaneous content streaming, a feature that is currently only available on both iPhone and iPad.
YouTube TV is a subscription-based streaming service that allows watching live television from the most popular broadcasters and cable channels in both Spanish and English. Among them are Fox News, Univision, or MSNBC. At the moment, it is only available in the United States.
'Multi View' or multi-screen support is a format that enables viewing multiple contents simultaneously on a single screen, such that it is divided into several windows to present each of them.
The company introduced this feature in the YouTube TV app for smart TVs a few months ago, but has now also brought it to mobile devices and tablets. More specifically, to iPhone and iPad, as 9to5Google has reported.
Several Apple device users have indicated through Reddit that when opening the Google app on devices running the iOS operating system, it displayed the option to choose the 'Multi View' viewing format.
YouTube has confirmed that in order to access this option, one must download version 8.11 of the app, on both iPhone and iPad. Additionally, the company has commented through Reddit that it will launch this functionality on Android in the coming months.
