Published on 2024-08-16

OPPO plans to equip around 50 million mobile devices with generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) features such as AI Summary, AI Speak, or AI Recording by the end of this year.

The company announced its plans during Google I/O Connect, held in China, where the brand’s President of Software Engineering, Kai Tang, shared his vision on how this technology is driving innovation in the smartphone industry.

In this regard, the Chinese firm emphasized that it is "dedicated to making AI-powered phones accessible to everyone" and that it will continue to work with other tech companies like Google to offer the best experience for its users.

It is worth noting that among OPPO's major innovations are AI Recording Summary, AI Writer, AI Toolbox, and AI Speak; all of which are accessible from the smart sidebar of ColorOS for a smooth experience and available on the OPPO Reno12 series.

However, in its commitment to democratize such features, OPPO has advanced that by the end of this year, it aims to equip around 50 million mobile devices with these AI-driven options. Among them are those belonging to the Find X flagship.

Finally, OPPO has indicated that it will work on these new AI-powered phones based on four key characteristics: efficient computing, real-world perception, self-learning capability, and creativity.
