Moto G 2015: The New Face of Motorola's Bestseller

Published on 2015-11-16

If there's one product that marks the rebirth and second life of Motorola after its acquisition by Google, it is undoubtedly the Moto G, launched by the search company in 2013 as the device destined to reinvent the mid-range.

When the Moto G was introduced, it was a device that promised everything for a maximum price of 200 euros in its most complete version. Its price-quality ratio and its compact and elegant design quickly turned it into the king of the mid-range: Moto G was a small Nexus and had Google's warranty behind it, which undoubtedly propelled it to stardom.

Much has changed just two generations after the device's launch. Following a second generation that consisted merely of a component upgrade, the third is a true facelift with which Motorola's new owner, the Chinese company Lenovo, wants to demonstrate that it can follow in the footsteps of the search giant.

The Moto G 3rd gen is characterized by maintaining the premises of its predecessor, that is, a price-quality ratio hardly beatable for just under 200 euros and a system with almost no customization layers and with a short update cycle, always in the wake of the Nexus.

The Moto G 2015 grows half an inch and moves to 5” with a screen that offers more than acceptable quality in high definition and in line with the market's average standard. A substantial change comes with the option to choose a device with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage expandable up to 64 by SD card.

Moreover, Motorola's flagship maintains the curved lines of its classic finish, but with a sealing that makes it splash-resistant and it can even get wet, although it is not advisable to submerge it for long.

Furthermore, the specifications of this third generation are completed by a 13MP Sony camera and a 5MP front camera that correct the main deficiency to date to once again achieve a device with an enviable price-quality ratio intended to continue reigning among users who want a competent device without having to spend a fortune for it.
