Big brands like Samsung, Sony, LG, HTC or Microsoft sell some phones (such as dual SIM) only in certain parts of the world. However, we can enjoy them in the USA, Canada, UK and the rest of Europe thanks to the imports of some distributors.
The import phones we sell are based on the premise of having at least English language, operability with the networks of the customer's country and a two-year warranty. However, it should be noted some peculiarities that occur in a small number of units. Any of them implies that the phone is not strictly new:
- Nonexistent seal: Some phones come without seal because the brand manufactures them in that way. It occurs with some models from Sony and Microsoft primarily.
- Broken seal: If the manufacturer doesn't give information on the type of charger it includes, the provider or the store should open the box to add one compatible with the customer's country. It is preferable to do this instead sending without checking it and take the risk that the user finds a surprise when he can't connect the plug.
This issue also could be due to the inspections within the framework of legality that customs can perform on goods.
- Start language: It is logical that the manufacturer sets as the default language, the one of the country where he plans to sell the device. So if when you turn on the phone the language is Spanish, German or Chinese, you have to go to icon settings and look for the English.
- Direct access to desktop: In some countries the legislation requires that the devices need to be activated before using them (this has nothing to do with that are locked or unlocked). This task is performed by the supplier and explains that some phones go direct to the desktop after turning them on, instead of appearing the initial list of languages. It occurs with certain models of Samsung.
This issue may explain why the decorative plastic screen is removed, especially if it contains logos that prevent visualization.
- Warranty: Under Spanish law, the seller must provide the guarantee to the consumer and, in this sense, any customer can contact us to deal it. In addition, manufacturers often allow the consumer to manage it directly, but when a phone is imported, some technical services can put reticence.
