Mobile telephony closed 2024 in Spain with 61.2 million lines, up 2.8%

The number of mobile lines in Spain reached 61.25 million in 2024, representing an annual growth of 2.8%, according to data published this Thursday by the CNMC.

Movistar, MasOrange, and Vodafone accounted for 87.4% of the total. M2M (machine-to-machine) lines increased by 17.7% compared to the previous year, reaching 13.44 million. A total of 475,869 mobile numbers switched operators, a 13.4% year-on-year increase. Movistar and DIGI gained lines, while Vodafone, MasOrange, and the group of MVNOs lost lines.

In total, 53.96 million voice lines with mobile broadband were recorded (+3.5% year-on-year). The three main operators held 86.4% of the total. Fixed lines dropped by 12,159 last year, reaching 17.7 million. Fixed portability fell by 8.6% year-on-year, with 88,663 numbers ported.
