TikTok opens an information center in its app to promote user safety

Published on 2025-02-11

TikTok has launched an "Information Center" within its app to promote user safety, as announced by the social network in a statement on Tuesday. This initiative is being introduced in honor of Safer Internet Day.

The new information hub will be available to TikTok users in the EU, the United Kingdom, and Israel.

The section serves as a guide with advice, tools, and resources to help users maintain security and control over their experience on TikTok while creating, connecting, and browsing the platform.

The initiative is reinforced with the hashtags #safertogether and #SeguridadEnTikTok.

TikTok works with fact-checkers to ensure that the content displayed in users' "For You" feed is accurate and reliable. If a user comes across content that seems suspicious or misleading, they can report it, and the platform encourages them not to share it.

TikTok users will receive a push notification about the Information Center with safety tips, which they can also access by searching for the hashtags #safertogether and #SeguridadEnTikTok. There, they can explore how to control their settings.

TikTok has enlisted the help of creators from its community to raise awareness about the importance of digital well-being. In Spain, the selected creator is Andalusian @sandramoruizz, known for sharing cultural educational videos on the platform.
