WhatsApp for Android makes it easier to free up storage space in Chats and Channels

WhatsApp has designed a system that allows visualizing and managing storage on the platform, which now distinguishes between two tabs - Chats and Channels - and improves the task of freeing up space dedicated to images, documents, and videos, among other files.

This messaging service developed by Meta currently has a section where you can check storage and used data, as well as network usage and automatic file downloads. This tab is located in the Settings section.

In the "Manage Storage" folder, the used storage and free storage are displayed. It also shows the list of Chats with saved contacts, the files shared with them, and their size.

The company has modified this section with new filters that distinguish the space dedicated to Chats and Channels. Additionally, it has implemented a tab that combines both tabs, "All", as recently observed by WABetaInfo.

With this feature, discovered in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.24.10.8, available for testers via the Play Store, the app aims for users to focus on specific types of content.
